Festival of Modern Making - Linus Andersson

Linus Andersson

Linus Wever Andersson is a Swedish/German luthier and artist based in Glasgow.

While studying philosophy in Berlin Linus was travelling through France to Spain and got a lift to Barcelona. The driver was a student of philosophy like himself, but he also called himself a luthier. After three days and nights of conversations and reflection about the art and philosophy of making a violin Linus got invited to join the luthier back to his workshop in France.

Four months later he had left Berlin and started at the Newark School of Violin Making where he graduated with distinction three years later. After important work experiences with well known makers around Europe - in the Netherlands, England, Spain, France, Italy, Sweden - he moved to Glasgow 2018 to set up his own workshop together with his Scottish partner Stephanie Irvine.
