About Linus Andersson

Linus is a Swedish/ German violin maker based in Glasgow. He studied at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating with distinction. Following a period spent in the workshops of several important European makers, Linus now has his own workshop in Glasgow with his partner Stephanie Irvine.

About the violin

This violin is modelled after the instruments of the Cremonese maker Guarneri `del Gesù´. As is often the case with `del Gesu´ copies, this instrument is a free interpretation, capturing the flavour and spirit of the instrument. Having said this, the f holes are very reminiscent of the `Kemp´ of 1738. The instrument is in original mint condition and has a length of back of 353 mm.
