Tim Wright Fine Violins: Our Ethos
Personal service
As musicians foremost, we understand the process of finding the perfect instrument. We believe that visiting a violin dealer should be a relaxed affair. We are a friendly family business, and we don’t believe in pressurised sales: if the instrument is perfect for you then you won’t need any further persuasion.
Every instrument that comes through the shop is studied, played, and discussed at length before we offer it for sale. We’re very proud that people often tell us that an instrument sounds exactly as we described it.
Fair pricing and flexible finance
We are very proud of the range of violins, violas, cellos and bows we have for sale and take great pleasure in helping you to find your perfect match whatever your budget.
We understand that buying an instrument is a significant investment and that our clients need to have every confidence in its future value. Our commitment to correct attribution, network of international colleagues, and our understanding of the market trends mean that our instruments are fairly and accurately priced.
We offer a range of flexible finance options including part exchange and payment by instalments to ensure that once you’ve found your perfect match you are able to take it home.
Reliable attributions and total transparency
Attribution and research are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of the level of research we undertake on every instrument, and really enjoy the chance to discuss this research with clients!
To provide peace of mind, our top instruments come with independent certification from the leading authority on the maker or school. A number of our instruments are also offered with dendrochronology reports from world-renowned expert Peter Ratcliff.
We also offer condition reports which will always give a complete account of the instrument or bow. These are prepared by our highly experienced Workshop Manager, making use of industry-leading UV and infrared technology to support a thorough assessment.
