About the violin bow

This bow was made in Hoorn around 2015 and was bought directly from the maker by its current owner. The bow is modelled after 17th century examples and has a clip in frog.

The round stick is of figured snakewood and measures 608mm in length. The frog is also of snakewood.

The bow weighs 36 and a half grams.

How does it play?

This is a charming little bow, drawing a fresh, zesty sound. The band of hair is narrow and precise, and the bow is full of life. A joy to play! The maker notes that this bow is for early Italian music and Biber.

Condition

The bow is in very good condition.
