About Michael Duff

Michael Duff is a New Zealand-born bow maker and founder of Berg Bows International, known for pioneering high-performance composite bows. With a background in microbiology and academic experience at Indiana University, he applies scientific precision to traditional bow making.

Duff bows use composite materials that emulate the acoustic properties of pernambuco while aiming to improve durability and consistency. His work is also notable for the use of eco-friendly alternatives like African Blackwood and cocobolo to replace traditional ebony in frog construction. Duff’s work has earned global recognition for blending sustainability, tradition, and cutting-edge performance.
