About Ludivine Brouillet
Ludivine is a French violin maker based in Newark-on-Trent who works in an annex of an art gallery in the city centre. Ludivine studied at the Newark Violin Making School and Repair from 2016, graduating in 2020. After graduation, she decided to go to work for several workshops in the Netherlands and after a year, came back to the UK and worked in another workshop in London. In 2022, after a few years of experience, Ludivine decided to open her own workshop and to focus mainly on making instruments as well as on set up for musicians.
During her studies, Ludivine had the chance to become a Laureate of the Foundation "Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet" which awarded her on her cello making. A few months after this, she received the Colin Garett prize within the Newark School for "outstanding progress throughout the school years". She is now teaching at the Violin Making School and Repair of Newark, teaching the Foundation and First Year class.
About the violin
This violin was made in Newark in 2023 and is inspired by the 1716 'Medici' Stradivari.
The violin has a two piece back of quarter-sawn maple with ribs to match. The scroll is more plain. The front is two pieces of straight-grained spruce and the varnish is a rich red with some shading.
The violin has a length of back of 360 mm.
How does it sound?
This violin has a really interesting, enticing character. The tone is sweet and relatively intimate, creating a warmth that draws the listener in. The interesting and colourful tone of this violin would make it a great partner for hours of solo practice, however its steadfast reliability would also give lots of support when playing with others.

The violin is in original mint condition.
