About Linus Andersson
Linus is a Swedish/ German violin maker based in Sweden. He studied at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating with distinction. Following a period spent in the workshops of several important European makers, Linus established his own workshop in Glasgow before relocating.
About the viola
This viola was made in Glasgow in 2023 and is modelled after the 1676 Andrea Guarneri 'Conte Vitale'.
The viola has a two piece back of quarter-sawn maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of fairly narrow-grained spruce and the varnish is a shaded golden-amber.
The viola has a length of back of 16 and a quarter inches or 413 mm.
How does it sound?
This is a viola that brims with character and personality! It is not at all passive: it's an instrument that requires getting to know, but is very rewarding.
Condition
The viola is in original mint condition.
