About Jacques Poullot

Jacques Poullot was born into a musical family in Dijon in 1960. He trained under Bernard Ouchard at the National School of String Instrument Making in Mirecourt, graduating in 1979 with a specialism in bow making.

Poullot then spent four years in the workshop of Albert Claudot before setting up his own Dijon workshop in 1983. His time is divided between new bow making, restoration, and expertise, having been appointed Judicial Expert by the Dijon Court of Appeal in 2022.

About the cello bow

This bow was made in Passy in 2009.

The round stick measures 696 mm in length and the mounts are of silver and ebony.

The bow weighs 83 grams.

How does it play?

The bow is strong and supple, with good grip of the string. It works well off the string and draws out a large sound.

The bow is in excellent condition.
