Howard Green is a contemporary bow maker, based in Tayport, Fife. He is highly-respected for his bows amongst both musicians and dealers and his bows can be found in the hands of professional players around the world. A cellist himself, Green makes bows with excellent response and reliability.

About the cello bow

This bow was made in Tayport in 2024. The round stick measures 699 mm in length and the mounts are silver and ebony.

The bow weighs 80 grams.

How does it play?

This is a relatively delicate bow to play: it works brilliantly for filigree passages and draws out lots of upper harmonics.
