This bow was made by Cirilo for L'archet Brasil, the leading bow company which commissions work from master makers in Brazil. The bows are all handmade by individual archetiers before being distributed by the firm all across the world. The company has developed an excellent reputation for its focus on sustainability: their work in developing excellent alternatives to pernambuco is of particular note.
About this viola bow
This viola bow was made in Brazil around 2010 and is one of the higher lines the company carries.
The mounts are silver and ebony and the stick is of good quality pernambuco.
The octagonal stick measures 726 mm in length and the bow weighs 72 and a half grams.
How does it sound?
This is a really robust, strong stick: a powerful bow that creates a massive sound with ease. It works well off the string.
