The Dörfler company was established in Bubenreuth in 1940 and continues to be a family-run business to this day. The brand is well respected for its very high standards of bow making and quality control.

About the cello bow

This bow is from the Dörfler firm's Master Bow series and is branded *Egidius Dörfler***. It was made in their Bubenreuth workshop around 2015.

The octagonal stick is of the excellent quality pernambuco which the firm reserves for the Master bows, and the mounts are of silver and ebony.

The bow weighs 83 grams and the stick measures 698 mm in length.

How does it play?

This is a good strong bow which draws out lots of upper harmonics.

Condition

The bow is in very good condition with some minor cosmetic wear to the frog.
