Violin by Derick Sanderson, Alva, 1975

About Derick Sanderson

Derick Sanderson was a luthier based in Alva, Clackmannanshire. He was active for around 20 years from the mid-1960s and passed away in 1988.

We have seen a number of Sanderson instruments in the shop, all of which were very well made.

About the violin

This violin was made in Alva in 1975 and is a personal interpretation of the Stradivari model.

The violin has a length of back of 356mm.

How does it sound?

The violin has a pure, clean character with lots of brightness. It would make a superb upgrade from a student outfit.
