About Thomas Craig

Thomas Craig was a violin maker and restorer based in Aberdeen who often imported instruments from Germany and France in the white and varnished them in his workshop. There are several other British makers who did this, usually to keep up with local demand. Interestingly, we have another instrument imported to Scotland in the white during the 1920s for sale here: this one was imported to Edinburgh by the Kohler firm.

This violin sounds just incredible! It is one of the most responsive, easy to play and vibrant sounding instruments in this price bracket. Made in 1913, the condition is excellent. The violin is a Strad model with a length of back of 358mm.
