About Nina Poots
Nina is a Glasgow-based luthier who graduated from the Newark School of Violin Making. She maintains a busy workshop in the city, combining new making with restoration.
About the violin
Modelled after the instruments of Stradivari, this violin was made in 2019 and is Nina´s third instrument. It has a two piece back of plain maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of medium-grained spruce. The varnish is reddish-brown in colour and the length of back is 357 mm.
How does it sound?
This is a balanced violin with lots of sweetness and warmth to the sound. The instrument has a singing quality which makes legato passages a pleasure to play. A lovely all-rounder!
Condition
The violin is in original mint condition.
