About Linus Andersson
Linus is a Swedish/ German violin maker based in Glasgow. He studied at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating with distinction. Following a period spent in the workshops of several important European makers, Linus now has his own workshop in Glasgow, producing excellent instruments which are popular amongst professional players.
About this viola
This viola was made in Glasgow in 2021 and is modelled after the 1676 Andrea Guarneri 'Conte Vitale'.
The viola has a two piece back of highly-figured maple with ribs and scroll of similar wood. The front is two pieces of spruce and the varnish is an attractive golden-brown.
The viola has a length of back of 16 and a quarter inches or 412 mm.
How does it sound?
Whether violin or viola, Linus' instruments are consistently excellent! This viola speaks very easily and has generous, open sound. It projects very well and is easy to play, whether in solo or orchestral repertoire.
Condition
The viola is in original mint condition.
