About Jon Paul

JonPaul is an American company made up of brothers-in-law Jon Hatch and Paul Prier, both bow makers. The bows are made of carbon fibre and are hand-made, combining the use of modern, high-tech materials with traditional bow making. The workshop is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

About this violin bow

This bow, the JonPaul Bravo model, is their most affordable violin bow and offers good value for money. It plays frighteningly well (for a lover of antique pernambuco), offering a reliable playing experience which is consistently good across the different bowing techniques. The carbon fibre material makes it suitable as a touring bow for a professional as the bow will not be affected by different climates: it would be equally good as the main bow for a younger player. The bow is brand new and weighs exactly 60 grams. The mounts are of silver alloy and ebony.
