About Howard Green

Howard Green is a contemporary bow maker, based in Tayport, Fife. He is highly-respected for his bows amongst both musicians and dealers. A cellist himself, Green makes bows with excellent response and reliability.

About the bow

The bow weighs 63 grams and the mounts are of silver and ebony. The stick measures 728 mm in length and is made of good quality pernambuco.

How does it play?

This bow gives the player excellent feedback through the stick. It has a very satisfyingly substantial feel without being in any way inflexible. It is very lively off the string, making it an excellent match for both orchestral and solo repertoire.

Tonally, the bow produces a focussed sound with a good deal of brilliance.

The bow is in original mint condition.
