German Violin Circa 1920

About

This violin was made in Markneukirchen around 1920. Markneukirchen was one of the main centres of German violin making at this time and produced a great many instruments and bows. Interestingly, we can tell that this violin made its way to Britain very early in its life as the neck was set in London sometime in the 1930s. The sound is bold with a dark quality and provides the player with lots of tonal possibilities: as such it would make an excellent violin for someone who would like an instrument which can challenge them to find a greater variety of colours in their playing.

The violin is a del Gesù model with a length of back of 358mm. It is in good condition.
