About the viola
This viola was made in Fife in 2021 and is inspired by the work of the early Brescian makers.
The viola has a two piece back of book-matched maple with ribs and scroll of similar wood. The front is two pieces of straight-grained spruce which widens towards the flanks. The varnish is golden-amber in colour.
This is a small sized viola with a length of back of 15 and a 1/4 inches or 388 mm.
How does it sound?
This is a fantastic instrument for a smaller violist! Often, small violas are a compromise in terms of tone, however this one competes extremely well with its larger counterparts. The viola is even across the strings and speaks easily: it is a reliable and charming instrument which will make someone very happy indeed.
Condition
The viola is in original mint condition.
